A Blessington company scooped a prestigious award at the construction industry's annual showcase held in Dublin recently.

MTD Solutions, which provides air and sound quality improvement products for buildings, walked away with the Overall Product of the Show award at Plan Expo 2008.

The award was handed to the company for a heat recovery ventilation system which automatically monitors and adjusts carbon dioxide levels indoors.

The company also picked up the award for innovation for the second year running.

Joint Managing Director of show organiser Expo Events, Garret Buckley, said the award reflected continued moves towards more 'green' products.

"Sustainability and renewables played a major role in our annual Product of the Show awards which clearly demonstrates the industry's commitment to this area. Winning a Product of the Show award at Plan Expo 2008 is a wonderful accolade for any business." he commented.
